Sales Application Engineer / Metal Manufacturer
Job Description
Vail Rubber Works, an industrial roll cover manufacturer, is hiring a Sales Engineer near the Cincinnati or Dayton area.
OPPORTUNITY:
In your role as a Sales Engineer / Application Engineer on our dynamic sales team, you will manage one of our company’s largest account (a steel manufacturer) and target prospective accounts in the southwest Ohio and Northern, Kentucky territory. Working from your home office, you will be out in the field 3-4 days/week with limited overnight travel. Build long-term quality customer relationships by identifying maintenance and repair projects and advising customers on application solutions. Reporting to the VP of Sales and Technology, your determined work ethic, self-motivation and initiative will translate into sales success and monetary rewards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage and grow existing accounts through active account maintenance.
- Expand territory by developing new business accounts through disciplined prospecting.
- Perform consultative-based sales meetings, demonstrations, and product trials with decision makers (from Engineers to Operation Managers) at the plant.
- Work with VRW production and sales management regarding specifications and delivery times.
- Submit reports for sales calls, trade events, seminars, etc.
- Develop sales forecasts for your territory.
- Qualify, control and close sales.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
- 3+ years of sales experience in industrial / manufacturing markets. (Roll cover experience is not required.)
- Sales experience calling on steel mills would be ideal.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven track record of achieving sales goals.
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot and advise solutions.
- Proficient with web-based CRM products.
- Driven to excellence in sales performance and customer relationships.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Vail Rubber Works (VRW) will reward your sales talents with a dynamic compensation package that includes a base salary plus uncapped commission plan. First year total compensation expected to be $100k - $150k+. Your territory has potential to expand up to 40% generating substantial increase to your compensation potential. You will also receive a generous benefits package including medical, vacation and holidays. A laptop, cell phone, company car (or auto allowance) and all expenses paid are also provided.
