Job Description
EPCO, leading manufacturer of products for the fluid power and marine industries, is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
OPPORTUNITY:
As our Industrial Engineer / Process Improvement Manager, you will manage material production requirements, maintain Bill of Materials, and oversee utilization and efficiency for all EPCO machines and automation. Create routers, utilize CAD, and maintain equipment files and maintenance scheduling. With an eye on automation, process improvement, support our Pull Method of manufacturing with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE.) Reporting to the President, you will play an instrumental part in the continued success of our company that prides itself on quality.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage and maintain BOM, material identification and numerical control.
- Review production efficiency and capacity and oversee OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) on all EPCO machines and automation.
- Maintain cost data updates and issue quotes.
- Update or create routers for repetitive operations.
- Manage and maintain print files, drawings, and documentation.
- Oversee quality, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and IMDS.
- Conduct time studies and recommend continual process improvement measures.
- Maintain equipment files and oversee all automation equipment (maintenance, repair, upgrades, new.)
- Support and enhance EPCO's established Pull Method of Manufacturing.
- Plans utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
- Industrial Automation / manufacturing engineering experience.
- CAD experience and automation program editing.
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP) understanding.
- Solid project management skills with effective cross-functional influence.
- Detailed oriented and ability to document effectively.
- Self-starter and able to perform tasks independently with a sense of urgency.
- Lean and Six Sigma experience would be a plus.
- Works within the parameters of EPCO's Quality Management System.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency for documentation use.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
EPCO will reward your talents with a base salary of $75k - $85K and is subject to increase for having additional skill set, including an outstanding benefit program. You and your family will be eligible to participate in EPCO's excellent health insurance program. EPCO provides up to a 4% match with its 100% vested 401(k)program. Vacation, holiday pay and tuition reimbursement are also provided. Participate in EPCO’s Gainsharing Bonus plan that affords opportunities to earn unlimited percentage gainsharing bonus every four weeks.
